The Carregado thermoelectric plant was a thermoelectric plant built in 1969 in Carregado, municipality of Alenquer. The plant was composed of six generation groups capable of generating 710 megawatts of power and was used only at peak regime. [1]

The plant was decommissioned in 2010.
