Conímbriga is a settlement established since the Copper Age that was an important center during the Roman Republic and that remained inhabited until at least the 9th century. [1] It is one of the most extensive and diversified archaeological sites in Portugal. It is classified as a National Monument, having been the scene of excavations since the 19th century
