The series of 8 episodes for RTP 1 “Uma Família Açoriana” portrays over the course of 10 years, the journey of a wealthy family from São Miguel in the second half of the 19th century. It is based on the book by Maria Filomena Mónica “Os Cantos” and on a pre-script by Maria Filomena Mónica and António Barreto, being the final script written by João Nunes. From this family, we started for the universe of fiction and created a web of events that always have the reality of the time as a backdrop, both in the Azores and in Europe. Vasco Ataíde Camara (Nicolau Breyner) is the patriarch and at the same time a great driver of modernity for his island.
